This post is directed at Trion really. I'm getting really tired of going from area to area, server to server, to go skin a few beasts for crafting mats and the areas are overrun with macro'ers. I file petition after petition reporting them by name and location and I get some crappy cut and paste response every time but yet the next day when I check back the same people are there macro'ing 24/7 flooding the market with their plat. You can't walk into sanctum without a barrage of plat sales spam in their wonderful broken english yet Trion does nothing to curtail this even when they get pointed out by name and petitioned repeatedly.
Go ahead and test it for yourself, go to any area that has a high concentration of beasts. Kill a beast in the proximity of one of these macros and watch what it does. If your killed beast has loot on it the macro will ignore it and continue target aquisition. If you loot it so it becomes skinable, the macro will immediately do a 180 degree turn and run to skin the beast at your feet (which it will do if you allow it) but as it gets near, skin it and the macro does another 180 degree turn and goes back into target aquisition mode.
They have no sigil cause they've never done a rift, they have names that were obviously spit out of a name generator program, their gear is only the crap that they've looted off mobs while macro'ing so they've never run a dungeon and 99% of the time they use pet classes. They follow the same pre-programmed routes and they always go for the areas with high beast concentrations.
I'm beginning to believe the dirty little secret in mmo gaming is that while publically companies "claim" to be against this type of activity for PR reasons, they privately are quite happy to be collecting monthly fees from all these extra accounts that aren't actually playing the game. They don't really care that it floods the servers with plat, artificially inflates prices on the AH or diminishes your gameplay experience because it's all about the almighty dollar, not the people who want to play the game honestly and enjoy it.
I don't really care if someone wants to flame me here but tonight was the last straw. I just had to post after going to stillmoor to get some hides off the werewolves there and there were so many macros running I had to leave the area.... So I go to shimmersand to skin some gaters and lo and behold I run into another crew of macros running....
I've done videos, I've done petitions, I've put them on follow for hours and watched their programs running (and skinning their beasts once in a while when I get really annoyed because a program doesn't complain lol) and nothing from trion.
